MRS Meeting Bursaries

The Metastasis Research Society is pleased to announce the availability of up to 10 Early Career Researcher (ECR) travel scholarships annually. These scholarships aim to support young investigators in presenting their metastasis research at national and international conferences.
Each award provides US$500 for attending national conferences*, and US$750 for international conferences**.
Eligibility:
To be eligible, the candidate:
- Must be an Early Career Researcher: PhD student or post-doctoral fellow within 10 years of receiving a PhD or MD.
- Must be a member of the MRS (the lab head must also be an MRS member).
- Must conduct research focused on metastasis.
- Must intend to present metastasis-related work at an upcoming conference within one year of the application.
Applications:
The candidates must submit a single .pdf file containing the following documents:
- A one-page letter from the applicant addressing the eligibility criteria and providing details about the conference and the benefit in attending.
- The abstract submitted or intended to be submitted for the conference.
- A two-page CV, including contact details, education, current and past positions, a publication list, awards, and a summary of previous conference attendance.
- A letter of support from the laboratory head.
Submission Guidelines and Notification Details:
- Applications should be sent to travel.bursaries@metastasis-research.org by May 1 or October 1 each year.
- Successful applicants will be notified in June and November.
- Priority will be given to candidates who have not received an MRS travel scholarship within the past 2 years.
- Awardees must provide proof of paid registration or conference attendance to receive funding.
- Awardees should acknowledge the MRS during their conference presentation, and may be asked to contribute to a website or social media featuring their work.
- Awardees agree to the MRS using their names and abstract title for promotional purposes.
* A national meeting is defined as one being held in the same country as the applicant’s institution.
** Online attendance and reimbursement of registration fees will be considered for those in emerging economies without the financial resource for in person attendance.
