The Metastasis Research Society takes privacy seriously. We have created a Privacy Policy that explains how we collect, use, and disclose your information.

For those who create user accounts by registering for membership on our site, we may collect personally identifiable information such as your contact information. The purchasing of membership after member registration is performed on a secure payment provider site, separate from the MRS site. Payment information is not collected or stored on the MRS website. For visitors of our site, only routine information is collected as a means of analytical analysis. This routine information is not personally identifiable. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.

What do we use your information for?

Any information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways: 1) to send you information periodically including newsletters and limited important announcements; 2) respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions;3) to manage your society membership;4) identify your willingness to participate in MRS-related events, projects and research proposals through our supporting member directories. Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information. Member Directories with identifiable information are stored offline and are not released without the member consent.

Do we use cookies?

Yes, many web browsers use cookies. Cookies download certain parts of our website and store them on your computer. This makes access to our site easier when you come back to see us again. Cookies and other stored information are used to make viewing faster when you visit our site again.

Where your information is stored.

We store member contact and registration information on a secure server in the United States. We do not collect or store payment information. Payment for products/services such as membership are processed through a separate secure site. The information we collect on our site for analytics is stored on a secure server in the United States. When you visit this site, you give us your permission to store contact and registration information.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety.

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third-party products or services on our website. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We, therefore, have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.
